Mini Project: Sew a Coaster

Make a simple and practical gift! You'll need:

• Two 4"x4" fabric squares
• One 4"x4" piece of felt (or batting) for the inside
• Needle and thread or sewing machine

Instructions:

1. Place one fabric square right side up.
2. Layer the felt square on top, then place the second fabric square right side down (so the felt is in the middle).
3. Pin in place and sew around all four sides, leaving a small opening.
4. Trim corners, turn right side out, and press.
5. Sew a topstitch around the edge to close the opening and finish the look.

Make a set of four and tie them with ribbon—perfect for teachers, grandparents, or neighbors!
