How to Sew a Belt
Sewing Materials Available
Directions on how to sew a belt, a quick and easy sewing project
Measure your waist and add 4 inches. This will be the length of your
fabric. Cut length of fabric and 3 1/2 inches wide. With your strip
of fabric, fold right sides together and stitch along top and
along side leaving one end open.
Turn right sides out and iron flat. Tuck the open end inward and sew
closed. Tuck 1-2 inches in through your belt ring (see picture
below). Sew end.
You can also use 2
circle or D rings as pictured below but add 10
inches to waist length measurement.
Tie Belt
Measure your waist and add 10 inches. This will be the length of the
belt. Starting at the skinny end of the tie, measure the length
determined. Cut to the correct length. Sew cut edges together. Slide
the same end in the 2 rings, fold over and sew in place. Easy as a
tie, I mean pie!
