Coin Purse

Coin Purse

by Jess

(suggested for girls)

Things you need:
wide ribbons (patterned ones are great)
thread (colours are optional)
needle
beads (optional)

Cut a rectangle off of the ribbon, fold this so it is a square shape.

Cut a fair amount of thread and thread the needle. Tie a knot at the bottom of the thread.

Make sure the ribbon is folded and at the bottom poke the needle through. Now sew up one side (so that you have the open fold upwards.

Once you get to the top start to bead the thread and that is what you hang the coin purse from.

Now sew downwards on the other side of the ribbon.

Once you get to the bottom of that side, tie a double knot and there you have it your very own coin purse.

Confusion
by: JulieMom

Maybe I'm thick, but I don't get how the little purse closes. I understand about sewing up both sides, but what about the top? Can you explain it a little further please? Thank you! Sounds like a great idea, I just want to wrap my head around it.

Cool craft!

A little bit hard for kids with bigger hands, but practice makes perfect!
