I am the Program Coordinator for Steve and Kate's Camp. We are based in the San Francisco, Bay Area with 24 sites across the Northern California and 2 sites opening in Washington State this Summer. I am trying to figure out what type of needle is best for young children, learning how to sew for the first time. The ages working with these needles would be anywhere from 5-12.
I am trying to figure out the best needle design on the market for our younger campers. We would like to steer clear of plastic needles, as those never seem to be able to penetrate the fabric. For the last 30+ years our campers have worked with regular needles or easy thread needles. But I feel like there has to be a better option--a larger metal needle--a bigger eye?
I appreciate so much any suggestions or thoughts you have.
